Fr. Augusthine hails from Thevarparampil House, Ramapuram (P.O.), Kottayam District, Kerala, South India. The son of Itty Iype Mani and Eliswa, he belongs to St. Augustine’s Forane Church, Ramapuram in the Diocese of Palai. He received his early education in Ramapuram and Mannanam, and later pursued priestly formation at the seminaries of Changanacherry and Varapuzha.
